im trying to use a Command-Line CRON job to schedule a backup. in the command box i put in:

/usr/bin/php5 /home/sites/wootel.co.uk/public_html/cli/akeeba-backup.php

when i test it i get the error:

Your script returned the following:
Status: 500 Internal Server Error

X-Powered-By: PHP/5.2.17

Content-type: text/html

hosting company just says to check the path to the file, which i have and it's there. server is running php version 5.5 and checked permissions (711 or 755.) from what I read else where could my host have giving me the PHP CGI rather than PHP CLI?

cheers.
mike.

Mike,

It doesn't look like the log you posted matches the failed CRON backup. The log is from a complete backup.

Please confirm with your host that you are using PHP-CLI. That is important. You can double check the path to the backup script by using the Scheduling Information button on the Akeeba Control Panel.

My guess from the log you posted, along with your Akeeba version, is that the CRON job never started.
