EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

Hello,

I have updated Akeeba backup pro 4.2.0 on different websites without issues except on http://www.lereel.net/en
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Using the "Upload package files" tab I get this error:
Error

There was an error uploading this file to the server.
Maximum PHP file upload size is too small: This is set in php.ini in both upload_max_filesize and post_max_size settings of your PHP settings (located in php.ini and/or .htaccess file).

Unable to find install package
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Using the "Install from directory" tab I get this error:

Warning

JInstaller: :Install: Can't find XML setup file.
Error

Path does not have a valid package.

Unable to find install package
---------------------------------------------------------------
Using the "Install from URL" tab I get this error:

Warning

Error connecting to the server: 403
Error

Invalid URL

Unable to find install package
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
No more luck with the "Install from web" tab.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
So there is no way to update Akeeba backup for this site.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards.

You were so close... Go to https://www.akeebabackup.com/download/akeeba-backup/4-2-0.html and find the DirectLink link for Akeeba Backup Professional (it's the third item on the list). Right click on it and select Copy Link. Go to your site, Extensions, Extensions Manager, Install and click the Install from URL tab. Paste the copied URL there and install.

The DirectLink URL is a special "signed" URL which allows our site to identify the request as coming from a subscriber (i.e. your user account) and lets the download proceed. If you copy the regular, unsigned URL the request results in a 403 Forbidden error.

All that said and done if you are trying to upgrade (not install for the first time) you can always do so through Extensions, Extensions Manager, Update. Under the hood it works just like the Install from URL with the DirectLink URL. All you need is make sure that the Download ID has been entered in the component's Options.
