Description of my issue:

I performed incremental and database backups nightly using cron job and the akeeba.cli.log file grows by 6.9GB every night which routinely causes disk full errors and prevents any new email from being received, how i can disable the generation of this log file so i don't have to delete this file every single night.

In the Configuration screen, near the top, set the Log Level to "Errors and Warnings". That should prevent the log from being too large.
