Description of my issue:

Upgraded from v4.1.1 to v4.1.2 using the Joomla extension upgrade function on four different sites, using two separate hosts, both have the same issue. Upgrade of Akeeba Pro results in the backup scripts being removed from the CLI directory, but not replaced.

First time I find out about it is when I get a notice that the CRON job could not find the file. I did search the previous tickets, but they talk about the Download ID being invalid, but I verified this and they are the same as I have setup here.

Not a big thing, but the fact that it happened at two different hosting companies may point to a installation/upgrade script issue.

A reinstall of the full package corrected the issue.

Not a show stopper, just a pain in the butt.

Cheers,

Neil Zampella

Neil,

Depending on how you performed the upgrade you may have downgraded Akeeba Backup to the Core version. The /cli scripts are only included in the Pro version of the software. In this case, just install the Pro version and those scripts should be there.

If you do have the Pro version installed, please upgrade the software again, twice, back to back, without doing anything in between. The "install twice" trick usually works around a situation where the Joomla! Installer does not copy all of the new files to the site.

Hi Dale,

As I mentioned, I used the built-in Joomla updater to do the upgrade, I would think it downloaded the correct version, since it needs the Download ID to do so.

I've used Akeeba Backup Pro since 2010 (first subscription date) to the present, and don't have a copy of the Core version available locally.

I'll keep an eye on this, but I'm stumped as this has happened on four different sites, hosted at different hosting companies. I'm trying to see what differences there are from the other sites that upgraded properly, but really can't find any.

I'll keep an eye on this in future to see if during the next upgrade there is anything that looks different between the upgrade links on the various sites.

No, the Joomla! Updater would not downgrade the version. It would give an error if the Download ID was wrong, usually a 403, but sometimes we get some variety in that.

The error where it doesn't copy all of the files to the site is not common, but it happens frequently enough that we know to watch for it. It seems pretty random, so missing just the /cli files over several sites would be unusual.

If you have more issues with upgrades, let us know and we'll try to beat it into submission.
