I have various sites hosted on a VPS, some are Joomla 2.5 and some are running Joomla 3.

When I upgrade any of the sites to Akeeba Backup 4.x, I lose most of the buttons in the admin interface of Akeeba Backup.

When I access the Akeeba Backup interface in the admin panel I only see 2 buttons which are "Scheduling Information" and "Component Parameters".

I assume something has changed in the latest update as Akeeba Backup 3.x works perfectly fine.

Maybe it is a comparability issue with my version of PHP?

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Many thanks!

Please ask your host to stop disabling the parse_ini_file function. This PHP function is NOT a security risk, it merely converts ini-formatted text into arrays. What they meant to disable was ini_set which can be used to change the PHP configuration at runtime, something which can have security implications on low quality hosts which lack proper hosting account isolation.
