Description of my issue:
After re-installing my nas I have the following error:
/opt/bin/php /share/MD0_DATA/Web/Joomla5/cli/akeeba-backup.php
PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING or '(' in /share/MD0_DATA/Web/Joomla5/cli/akeeba-backup.php on line 25

I have read another ticket you mention 2 versions of php but /opt/bin/php is my only version. Before re-installing the nas everything worked fine!

dlb
The Akeeba Backup 4.x series requires PHP 5.3.4 or higher. It will not run on version 5.2.

Ok, so I have to upgrade PHP?!

dlb
You appear to be using different versions of PHP for your back end and CRON backups. In your initial post, you listed 5.2.17 cli as the PHP version. That is for a command line backup and it is not high enough. The 5.3.29 that you posted with the log fragment, is fine.

I can't find the path for the 5.3.29 version.
phpinfo.php is telling me that is has to be there but where :)

Franzie17
Sorry, I was too fast. Found it! /mnt/ext/opt/apache/bin/php (on a Qnap)

Backup is running now so everything is fine, Please close the ticket!

Thank you for your support!

You are welcome!

Not that I'm pessimistic or anything, but I think I'll let the backup complete before I close the ticket. :-)
