I've created a cron job that looks like this:

/usr/bin/php /var/www/clients/client1/web2/web/cli/akeeba-check-failed.php

And I have a failed backup but I don't get a email that I have a failed backup. I can see in the logs that the cron job runs.

Where do I define which email address it should be sent to?

Do I need to do something more for it to send a email when I have a failed backup?

When you are looking at a back end backup in process, you can see down at the bottom of the screen the "Last server response x seconds ago". Akeeba keeps track of this "heartbeat", when the heartbeat stops, the backup is dead.

What akeeba-check-failed.php actually does is check the most recent backup for a status of "pending" and the last heartbeat was more than three minutes ago. That is the only situation where it will send an email.

Ah ok, because I run backups using a cron job so I can't see that heartbeat. And the backup is marked as failed in the admin panel.

I thought the check for failed backups file looked at the backups that had been taken to see if anyone of them was marked as failed. But that isn't the case then?

dlb
No, that is not what this script checks for.

I see, would be nice if it could do that.
