EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

I read the existing article on Fatal error after Joomla updating from 2.5.8 to 3.3.6 but unfortunately installing akeebabackup 2 times in a row does not fix the issue for me. Basically If i log into the backend of my joomla sites as an admin I receive this error Fatal error: Class 'Akeeba\Engine\Platform' not found in /home/xxxxx/public_html/plugins/quickicon/akeebabackup/akeebabackup.php on line 198

This is happening on 8 different sites I have all of which was upgraded from joomla 2.5.8 to 3.3.6. If you log in as a super admin this error does not show up it only happens when you log in with admin permission.

This is pretty urgent now, none of my clients are able to log into the back end of their sites because they all only have admin permissions.

If you need an answer right this second then the only choice is to disable the plugin "Quick Icon - Akeeba Backup Notification".

This is a known problem and I'm pretty sure that the most recent Developer's Release fixes it. But Nicholas is not around to ask at the moment, he will be back tomorrow morning. The Dev Release becomes an option once we can confirm that it fixes the problem. Note that when you install a Dev Release, it always prompts you to upgrade to the stable version, even if the stable version is older. That freaks some folks out.

Yes, this problem is fixed in the current Dev Release.

Thank you! As you said this did fix the issue. Any idea when a stable version will be released? In the mean time I am going to have to install this dev version on all 40 of my sites just to make sure all my clients are able to log in and I don't miss a site.

The plan was to release a stable today, but the plan didn't work out due to some unexpected family obligations.

He's shooting for tomorrow, but can't make any promises.
