Hi everybody

First great extension that of akeeba-backup I use quite a long time. Now I have purchased the profesionnal version in order to have more of it.

My question I couldn't get solved by myself:

Can I make a backup on my test site (where I test new extensions or updates of them) and then extract that backup on the real site without "killing" the new subscribers that subscribed in the meantime? The time I need to test something is quite long (lacking of free time..) and in the meantime I have new paid subscribers on the real website. When I finished the update testing on the test-site, I want to extract that backup with the tested updates on new extensions on the real site without loosing the new subscribers... or without manually re-entering them..

Subscribers subscribe via OSMembership (OSMembership-account) and in parallel a joomla-user-account is established, these two are then associated together.

What kind of backup / parameter setup would I need to make in order to work around that problem?

Thanks for your help.

Hello Frank,

I'm sorry but that's not possible.
Filesystem and database are entangled together, so you can't restore files and skip the database.
What you can do is to take a backup, test the update locally, then, if everything works fine, apply the updates on the live site.

That's the same process we are doing on our site.
