EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
Hi,

My host provider has just upgraded my Plesk Panel, which may be a coincidence, but I now find I cannot use akeeba to backup and I'm unable to update to the latest version - either from the Akeeba update or using a new fresh download. Each attempt to do this results in the error code - 500 Layout admin:com_akeeba/backups/default not found.

On checking the file system I found my backup folder and backup.php files had been deleted - not sure how. I have another Joomla site on the same hosting package, which has upgraded and will backup without a problem. I have replaced the missing folders and files from this installation, but this was unsuccessful in resolving the issue.

What should I do to resolve this issue?

Regards, Ian.

Hello Ian,

when do you get that message? Immediately when you try to visit Akeeba Backup control panel?
Did you try to install it using the "old way", using Joomla installer and uploading the zip file?

For your information, the file backup.php should be under the path com_admin/views/backup/tmpl/backup.php . The error message reports the plural form because he tries to find the layout file in both locations (singular and plural)

Hi,

Many thanks. The other backup folder had also been deleted and once replaced from another installation I was able to upgrade to v4.1.0, which the performed a successful site backup. Hopefully all will now be ok.

regards, Ian.
