Description of my issue:

I get an update for Akeeba Backup 4.1.0.rc3 on my Joomla updates but this is a release candidate.
"This is a testing release of Akeeba Backup. Please do not install on production sites unless you understand that there might be some minor issues still present.".

Is there a way to restore the ability to set in options that you do not want any 'release candidates' to be installed? I worked 'real-time' on virtually all of my client websites so I only want 'stable' versions installed.

No, you can't exclude release candidates at this time. When we used our own update software, you could select the maturity level, but we moved to Joomla!'s Extension Manager due to popular demand and it doesn't know the difference.

The good news is - Nicholas submitted a patch to make Extension Manager aware of alpha/beta/release candidate/stable levels and it was accepted. Look for it in 3.4.
