I know :( The only reason I switched to Joomla!'s own updater is that people with many sites were complaining that they can more easily install updates with the Joomla! updater. Well, if you don't mind my language, that's bollocks. These people were using Watchful.li anyway, so no biggie there. The switch has only caused problems: Joomla! has the wrong cacert.pem and can't download updates; Joomla! tries to download, extract and install on the same step causing blank pages; Joomla! fails to extract the archive if the temporary directory is unwriteable; Joomla! doesn't update the update server URL when you install a new release; Joomla! doesn't reset the update information after installing an update; Joomla! disables the update source ("update site") the very first time it cannot contact it for any reason, even if it's a temporary network error; Joomla! doesn't understand the difference between testing and stable releases. ARGH! I'm --> <-- this close to switching back to Akeeba Live Update. Honestly...
