EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Backup Debug Log: http://dynamic.christopherpressey.com/AkeebaBackupDebugLog.zip

Description of my issue:

After upgrading to 4.0.1rc1 I am unable to complete any backups (frontend, remote, restore points) - All terminate around 50% with Server Error 500 ( HTML containing script tags)

Prior to the upgrade, all backups ran without issue.

dlb
The backup log that you posted is an old log from a successful backup. Was there a log created by your backup on 4.1.0-RC1? If so, please post it.

Sorry - I just ran a new backup (failed) - try the attached log instead.

dlb
Thank you. We had a similar report earlier and Nicholas requested log but it hasn't been posted yet. This shows that the error happens just as the file backup is starting. It gives Nicholas somewhere to start looking.

Please go to the Configuration page and set the File Scanner Engine to Large Sites. Did that work? If not, please send us the new log file. Thank you!

Unfortunately, Looks that I spoke too soon. While I was able to run a full backup, my attempt to update to rc2 caused another error. Log is attached

dlb
Was this log from RC1 or RC2? Nicholas released RC2 earlier today. If it really is RC1, please upgrade to the newer version. Thank you.

I'm now receiving a similar error on full backup and restore points running rc2 on a different site - log is attached.

dlb
Please run the Configuration Wizard and try your backup again.

The original problem was that the configuration settings were lost in the conversion from 4.0.5 to 4.1.0-RC1. Nicholas' post above made it work, but we hadn't figured out why at that point.

The Config Wizard will re-establish the ideal settings for your server. The missing settings, in combination with the log file, suggest that the problem may be a timeout. There are hints that it is not a timeout too. The Config Wizard will eliminate that possibility.

OK, ran configuration wizard and I'm back to the "HTML containing script tags" error instead of the previous "unknown error". Log file is attached.

Running into this on the original site for this ticket as well - despite having run config wizard again, I'm unable to get Restore points to work. Log is attached.

dlb
The System Restore Point had a problem, it is fixed in RC3 which was released earlier today. If you have a problem upgrading, you may need to disable the SRP plugin while you do the upgrade.
