Hi,

[ sorry, my Ticket has gone before I entered my text :-) ]

Today I have made updates on +/- 15 sites, using Joomla Updater.
All my sites have the latest 4.0.5. release of Akeeba Backup Pro.

So here is the little problem I face.
With a series a site (not with all of them), when I launch some updates in Joomla Updater,
System Restore Points takes the lead and make his mini-backup.
Great... except that it keeps looping (making mini-backup after mini-backup. Besides, the extensions never get updated of course because of this).

So on most of my sites, I have disabled the plugin (which is sad, and even unsafe, because it is an excellent concept of plugin !!!).

I have no clue of what causes this loop problem, because all the sites have more or less the same configuration (latest version of Joomla, ...).

Any idea of the cause ?
Or any idea of how I could investigate this further if you don't have a clue ?
(but given the fact I have the phenomenon on many independant sites, I "hope" I am not the only one facing the problem :-))

Txs,

Marc

Marc,

I think what is happening is that you are updating multiple extensions in one batch. It does the System Restore Point for Extension #1, then goes to the updater for Extension #1, then SRP for Extension #2, updater for Extension #2, and so on.

On my system, I can only see the SRPs, I never see the updater screen until the very last extension is complete.

Please try with just one update, or only select one update if you have multiples. I think you will only see one SRP, then the updater screen. I have not heard any reports of the SRP looping during updates.

Txs for the quick reply.
I'll give it a try next time (well, now that all my sites are up to date, I'll have to wait a few days I hope :-)
If you don't hear from me, it means that it is indeed the reason you mentionned.

Txs again,

Marc
