John,

In addition to the CRON log, there would be a backup log too. That would be helpful in figuring where and when the error is occurring. The backup log gives the error context.

Please zip and post your backup log and we'll see if we can beat it into submission.

John,

The good news is that the backup completed normally. There are no errors or warnings in the log file.

That leaves us with a mystery of why we're getting the MySQL error in the CRON job output. I will have to seek some help from Davide and Nicholas.

John,

You found a bug. There was a typo in the code involved with sending the completion email to the administrator. The backup itself is fine, you just didn't get the notice email.

The fix will be included in the next release. Thank you for reporting the problem!

John,

Nicholas released a Developer's Release that includes this fix. The dev release is at https://www.akeebabackup.com/download/developer-releases/akeebapro.html, the most recent release is at the top. If you would install this version and test it, we would appreciate your feedback on if the bug is fixed.

One thing to note about dev releases, they always prompt you to "upgrade" to a stable release, even if that stable release is older. You just need to not upgrade until you see a release greater than 4.0.5 (current).
