EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

php error in log.
The backup status window shows that backup is complete, except the warnings show that a directory is unreadable. I have verified with the hosting company (Arvixe) and they confirm all permissions are set to full use, there is plenty of disk space (well below my limit).

Troubleshooter - ALICE has error with Backup archive writing issues (Could not open archive file for append.)

I don't trust the backup is valid, as the backup file used to be around 30Mb, and now it is only 800kb.

Based upon all the reading, I am assuming this has something to do with a file permission, or php setting that I need to address with the hosting company, but I don't know what to ask them to adjust?

This is a good one! The log says the backup was successful, but there are no files in it. The log doesn't say anything about not being able to write to the archive. The warnings are "normal" MySQL errors that we don't have to worry about.

This is what the backup would look like if somehow the root of your site was excluded with a filter. Please go to the files and folders exclusion on the Akeeba Control Panel and reset the filters. Now please retry your backup.

I reset the excluded filter (none shown before or after).
Same result with a new backup.

I'm sorry, I missed it the first time. Your wwwroot folder needs to belong to the group "Everyone". That's a requirement on the Windows based webserver.

Dale,
That looks like it got it. My new backup just ran successfully, with no messages, and is a full 30MB in size.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
