Description of my issue:
I use Akeeba Backup on a number of my sites using Amazon S3 remote storage and have not had a problem, however for the past 2 days the post-processing to S3 has not worked on any of the sites. I get an error 7 - can't connect to host message. I have even tried using a new ID/secret key and have the same results. Backup itself runs fine, just can't connect to S3 account. Would appreciate any suggestions that you have.

sadly sometimes Amazon S3 service is not responding: there's nothing we can do, you can only wait a couple of hours and try again later.
