EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

When trying to access Control panel of akeeba backup I'm getting a blank page. After doing some research I have found this error in the error_log:

[22-Oct-2014 10:22:57 America/Chicago] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 2 bytes) in /home/studio/public_html/justice/administrator/components/com_akeeba/akeeba/drivers/mysqli.php on line 396

My php memory limit according to Joomla! System information is 256MB. This is a hosting account we usually use for development and in other sites under development we have no issues with the extension.

Any idea where to look next?

Thank you very much!!

I think that something else must be using all that memory. The total RAM required by Akeeba Backup itself is just 12 to 16Mb.

Hi Nicholas,
thank you very much for your reply. I have disabled all non-core system plugins (even Admin Tools) and problem still there. Besides system plugin is there any other kind of event that I should be aware of? I want to try all options before restoring the site locally and debuging :S

Site is not anything special at all.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Akeeba Backup in the off-chance there's a corrupt table or something?

I tried reinstalling extension with no luck ans then I accessed through FTP to the default backup folder and I found 999 files with the name pattern: 20141016-163###.j01 and I think they are responsible of the issue. Actually each file was created 3 seconds after the previous one from October 16th till 17th so it seems like another issue with the extension.

I'm not sure how we got to this situation and I'm currently removing the files by FTP. As soon as I can provide more info I will do.

Thank you very much!!

No Cronjobs. It's watchful service!!

It's keeping launching the backup!!!

I'm sending a ticket for them to stop this craziness!! It generates a backup file each 3 seconds!!
