G'day Nicolas
"Cli" is working just fine with backup and download on mac with terminal:-) great

But what should our host support to meet your live-update features - we have filled out updater ID in the Component in the backend, but still get this error: through cli

ERROR:
Could not get update information
Nor does it work from the backend when hitting the updater button

One of the following is the problem:

Your host has disabled cURL and fopen() URL wrappers for the PHP CLI binary. One of them must be enabled for Joomla! to fetch the update information.

Your host has a firewall which prevents CLI applications from accessing the web. They need to open TCP port 80 to cdn.akeebabackup.com and port 443 to www.akeebabackup.com.

Please note that the PHP CLI is a different executable than the version of PHP used on your web server to render .php pages, with a different configuration.

Hi again (sorry Nicholas I passed on your answer to the host.
And I got this reply.
"these settings are not disabled from us - what exactly is it you want?"

The host is one.com and we live here williamstest.dk, you can use this for anything

That's all the help I can give. The actual update check and update installation is performed by Joomla! core code. Our CLI script only calls that code. Perhaps there's another issue in the JUpdater class but since it's not written or maintained by us I have no idea :(
