What you need to take is a backup of your site, using the Backup Now button on the main page. Restore points are partial backups of a single extension, taken when you are updating an extension. This is a feature which will be removed from future versions of Akeeba Backup.

hm,
I think I paid $ 40 for the opportunity to online backup and restore the site and it turns out that the process of restoring the site does not accelerated. I still have to copy the backup archive on the hosting and then delete unnecessary files. I want to return the money.

You CAN take and restore a full site backup with Akeeba Backup. Video tutorials:
  • Installation and first backup - https://www.akeebabackup.com/videos/63-video-tutorials/1506-abt04-installation-and-first-backup-pro.html
  • Restoring on a NEW site - https://www.akeebabackup.com/videos/63-video-tutorials/1508-abt06-restoring-to-new-server-using-kickstart.html
  • Backing up to Dropbox - https://www.akeebabackup.com/videos/63-video-tutorials/1510-abt08-remote-backup-with-dropbox.html
  • Automating your backups - https://www.akeebabackup.com/videos/63-video-tutorials/1507-abt05-automating-your-backup-pro.html

Further reading:
  • Restoring on THE SAME site: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/akeeba-backup-documentation/adminsiter-backup-files.html#integrated-restoration Please note that the rest of the process is the same as the second part of restoring to a new site, you just have to click on Next all the time
  • Backing up to a heck of a lot of on-line storage services: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/akeeba-backup-documentation/data-processing-engines.html
  • Importing a backup from S3 to a NEW server: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/akeeba-kickstart-documentation/ch04.html#pro-import-s3

Moreover, please let me remind you that by subscribing to our services you accepted our Terms of Service without reservation. Our Terms of Service, as you were informed BEFORE subscribing, can be found at https://www.akeebabackup.com/privacy-policy.html. The «"Cool-off" period and refunds policy» is an integral parts of the Terms of Service which you accepted without reservation and indicated so by consciously clicking on the box indicating this.

If you want me to help you please ask me a specific question instead of threatening me with a refund. I would very much like to help you but I swear I am not a mind reader. You asked me about the optional System Restore Points feature, I answered about the optional System Restore Points feature. You had something else in mind. I still don't know what you had in mind. The phrase "restoring the site does not accelerated" makes no sense. Accelerated compared to what? Akeeba Backup Core? Yes it is faster, if you use the integrated restoration. Compared to backing up files and databases manually? Yes, it is way faster. Compared to needing to press Next a few times? No, you can't make it any faster than that without using the command line Akeeba UNiTE tool, which is included in your subscription. So, what exactly would you like me to help you with? Please tell me.

Original text :

translate google:
offense is not professional, try to be patient. I use a translator to write to you, so please excuse me if the English text does not match my thoughts. I mean that in the "Manage Backup" no "Restore" button, and the function "restore point" does not correspond to the semantic meaning of this function. You can not create a recovery point content site by hand, and then roll back by clicking the "restore " button. Moreover there is no button to restore at the administrative panel and recovery takes a long time. Give name "restore point" as "system backup" and everything will be clear. So the subscription is not it will save my time and I lost money, for this reason, I ask a specific question: where the button to create a restore point in adiministrativnoy panel for which I paid.

Best Regards

Sorry, I didn't know you were using a translator. Apparently the translator wrongly translated my text as well. I meant no offense. I honestly want to help.

Restore points are a completely different feature to backup. It takes a backup of an extension only. It is the same idea as a Windows XP "restore point" (partial backup of a specific things, not the entire computer). I know that the term is confusing, but it's the same as the one Microsoft uses. This feature was more relevant when it was first created, back in the Joomla! 1.5 days. Now, with Joomla! 3, it is not very relevant. That's why we will be removing it.

What you want is taking a backup, including your content, which you can restore at any time. This is what the regular backup does. Click on Backup Now. This takes a backup. See: https://www.dropbox.com/s/svf9b4k90zcvpvt/Screenshot%202014-10-14%2019.02.10.png?dl=0

Then go to Manage Backups. Make sure that Backups tab is selected. Check the box to the left of a backup. Click on Restore. See this screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/u8dzr2vzconq99r/Screenshot%202014-10-14%2019.04.11.png?dl=0 I have put labels: 1, 2, 3. This is the order you have to click on these things.

IMPORTANT: If you do not see the Restore button please install Akeeba Backup Professional. Watch this video tutorial to see how: https://www.akeebabackup.com/videos/63-video-tutorials/1505-abt03-upgrade-core-to-pro.html

Regarding the time to restore a backup: it depends on your server. On SiteGround, Rochen and our local servers a medium sized site like AkeebaBackup.com takes 30 seconds to extract and 50 seconds to restore. The restoration is over in less than 2 minutes. If you are on a low quality host it will take longer. We never told you that the restoration takes less time in the Professional version. In fact, there is a SINGLE documentation and video for the restoration. If you assumed it would be faster without asking a pre-sales question you have to take responsibility for your assumption. If you had asked me a pre-sales question I would have told you.

Regarding what you paid for: we explicitly describe what our software can do. We give a free version with limited functionality which you can use without paying anything. Our documentation is also available free of charge. We have video tutorials free of charge. And we do encourage you to ask us pre-sales questions. We do not give refunds if you assume there is a feature we never advertised, we never documented and you never asked us about. We explicitly state that in our Terms of Service and you DID agree to them BEFORE paying. What we do is exactly what the European Union consumer protection directives mandate. I don't see why you are offended when you were given all the information the law requires.
