EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

hi

I would choose an automatic backup for my joomla site but I have no idea which one to choose their own even if I read the guide.

can you help?
my hosting is 1and1

There are so many choices because there are so many hosts, and they all have different restrictions.

I have a note from another 1and1 user from about six months ago that said he couldn't use the regular CRON backup because 1and1 shared hosting did not have PHP CLI available. He used the Alternate CRON Script as described here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/akeeba-backup-documentation/automating-your-backup.html#alternative-cron-script.

I don't use 1and1 as my host, so I can't vouch for the accuracy of that information. It could have changed in six months, the lack of PHP CLI could have been limited to a specific server, or the other user may have just been wrong. Your question is tough because it is more about your host than about Akeeba Backup.
