Description of my issue:

I cant update with my download Id´s. When i download directly, it downloads ( the link in the error message from joomla, when i try to update ). When i use it over my servers, i cant update this.

Can you please help me?

I entered the download ID in admin tools and akeeba backup. i can´t update with this, joomla says error 403. when i pichk the link which is given in the error message, i can directly download this.

i want update this direktly in backend, this fails. the download id is correct, curl enabled ( joomla can update ) fopen disabled.

can i give you backend access to one of my sites? ( all sites fail.... )

Thank you for the clarification.

I think you have already done this, but please double check your Download ID against what is shown on our site. The Download IDs changed again a few months ago. Since that time, Nicholas has changed the way the IDs are calculated and stored to prevent any more unexpected changes.

Please ask your host to open communications over TCP port 80 to cdn.akeebabackup.com (note to host: this is a CDN, the hostname resolves to different sets of IPs based on geolocation) and TCP port 443 to www.akeebabackup.com.

Hi, i refreshed one id, can´t update.

2014-09-30 18:06:51 ERROR 403: ACCESS FORBIDDEN.
i cant access to your cdn, tryd it with wget. now i try another server. mom

What version are you trying to update to? The 4.0.3 version has been pulled from the update servers. If your Joomla! has cached the "new" version as 4.0.3, then the 403 error makes sense.

If your Joomla! does show 4.0.3 as the new version, purge the update cache and search for new updates to get the 4.0.4 version.

joomla wants to update to 4.0.4
cache and refreshed. the update function does not work.

it seems that my servers are blocked from your cdn ( i think... )

That is what Joomla says. All other components can i upgrade, no problems. only akeeba and admin tools....

the change and switch of download id does not help....

have about 100 domains on 2 servers. all can´t update..

ports are open : 20,21,22,25,53,80,110,143,443,587,993,995,3306,8080,8081,10000

joomla update for another components no problems, only here.

If you have multiple domains to update, wait for Thursday. There is another update coming.

The security vulnerability in Akeeba Backup is serious. But it can only be exploited while an archive is being extracted during a restore. That is a very small window. If you need to do a restore before the new version is available, there are options that will allow us to avoid the problem.

Wait until Thursday's release is available, the security risk is very small, you will only have to do the update once instead of twice and I'll have more help available to help me figure out why you are getting the 403 error.

I had replied to this ticket but apparently a network error caused my reply to be lost :( What you are experiencing has actually nothing to do with Akeeba Backup, Joomla! our our servers. It is a problem with your host, namely that they have an obsolete version of OpenSSL installed on their site which does not support modern SSL certificated.
