EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
Backup hangs at 83% after installing your latest update. Tried all your troubleshooting ideas, no luck.

The version number is irrelevant. Uploading your backup archive to Dropbox takes 65 seconds to complete. Your PHP maximum execution time is only 60 seconds. This causes a timeout error on your server. You can use a smaller Part Size for Split Archives as described in the documentation to work around this issue.

Gee, I had ZERO problems before the upgrade. And now after upgrading, I've got problems. You may choose to say that the fault lies on my side. But a bit of humility goes a long way in this world. You might like to warn your users that they need to change some stuff before upgrading, rather than browbeating those who innocently upgrade and then have problems.

I did try various of the solutions you suggested online. No, I did not try to split the archives, since the size of my site did not change one iota from before the upgrade to after the upgrade. The fact is the upgrade broke the backup process. Deal with it, rather than scolding your paying customers.

Dear Richard,

The fact remains that uploading the file to Dropbox takes 65 seconds. You can check this in the log file. This is where I got that information. This is also where I saw that your PHP timeout limit is 60 seconds. It's not like I invented arbitrary information.

The time it takes for a backup archive to upload is definitely not just a function of your site's size. It depends on BOTH your site's size and the upload speed to Dropbox. The former is dependent entirely on the contents of your site. The second is dependent on your host, Dropbox, Amazon AWS (which is Dropbox' host) and all the intermediate Internet backbone providers. None of them is under our control. When the size divided by upload speed exceeds the PHP or Apache maximum execution time the server fails. These two configuration settings are dependent on your server configuration which is beyond our control.

You came here asking for a solution to your problem. We gave it to you. Instead of following our advice you chose to lash out on and verbally abuse the people who are trying to help you. This is your first and final warning per our Terms of Service.

Thank you and have a nice day.
