EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
Hi

I have multiple sites and they all create a backup of the database and send it to an e-mail adress every night. The backup is initiated via a cron from webcron.org.

On one of my sites i recieve the email twice. On that particular site i an using mandrill.com to send all emails and have installed CMandrill on the Joomla site.
When i look at the emails one mail is sent vis Mandrill and the other is sent directly.
Using the CMandrill extension should make sure that all mails are sent via CMandrill and not directly.
Is there something that Akeeba backup does differently ?
All other mails sent by whe website (all other extensions) ar sent perfectly via Mandrill and they are not duplicated - only the ones from Akeeba Backup.

Hello Jacob,

the email sent by Akeeba Backup is senti using Joomla JMail and it's caught by CMandril, the other email is most likely sent by Webcron.
The contents and the senders of these two emails are the same?

Hi

The content of the mail and the attached sql-dump is exactly the same.
I have attached screendump of the 2 senders. You can see the one is from the site and the other is from/via mandrill

Webcron doesn't send any emails.
All my other sites are setup the same way only difference is they do not use Mandrill. And they do not send duplicate mails

I just inspected the code, and we are using Joomla built-in mailer function.
Since we're using the official code and API of Joomla, I suspect the problem relies inside CMandril.

I'd suggest you to ask for support to the developers of that extension.

Hi

I have asked CMandrill to look at it...

I noticed some other thing though... If i set Akeeba up to send an e-mail upon completion, then i get 1 (one) email as expected (via CMandrill), but the mail containing the backup of the database is sent twice. Is there a difference in the sending of these 2 emails ?

No, we are using the exact same code.
