Description of my issue:

Hi There,

I run my own unmanaged VPS server from a known UK webhost Heart Internet but as it's unmanaged there's not as much support as one would like at times.

Anyway, I'm getting a website I run back up and running after the closed football season (UK) and I need to get my Akeeba Backup Pro to run command line backups for me to help automate it for safekeeping if ever they're needed in future.

However, I'm running this command line at present;

/usr/bin/php53-q/home/swswsws/public_html/cli/akeeba-backup.php--profile=2

However, I am getting the log email back saying;

Subject:Cron /usr/bin/php53-q/home/swswsws/public_html/cli/akeeba-backup.php--profile=2

/bin/bash: /usr/bin/php53-q/home/swswsws/public_html/cli/akeeba-backup.php--profile=2: No such file or directory

I simply don't understand what I am doing wrong in this instance, is my command line code looking correct?

I really want to get this automated backing up and running, can you help please?

I look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Regards,
Rob

You are missing a space before AND after the -q in your command line. You are also missing a space before the --profile=2

Hi Nicoloas,

Thank you for the reply, much appreciated.

I have done it so it now reads;

/usr/bin/php53 -q /home/swswsws/public_html/cli/akeeba-backup.php --profile=2

However, it is now saying the following;

/bin/bash: /usr/bin/php53: No such file or directory

Would this have anything to do with the php53 by any chance and if so as I have an unmanaged VPS, how do I go about finding out do you suggest what the directory would be where the command line code would then run?

Well, it does tell you what the problem is. The path to your PHP CLI binary is not /usr/bin/php53. This is something we cannot help you with. The exact path to the PHP CLI binary depends on the server setup. Even though it's an unmanaged server your host knows how they have set it up, therefore they should be able to tell you what is the path to the PHP CLI binary and you can then replace /usr/bin/php53 with whatever they told you the the PHP CLI binary is.

Nicolas,

Thanks for the reply again.

They logged in to my VPS via SSH and found some details for me and the one I tried happened to work and I'm now getting a full email from Akeeba Backup stating what it has backed up, that there were no errors in any aspect of it, so it seems;

/usr/bin/php -q /home/swswsws/public_html/cli/akeeba-backup.php --profile=2 is the one, basically minus the "53" I had initially in the CLI.

Thanks once again, your time is much appreciated in this matter and it's now solved.

Regards,
Rob
