EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
- I cannot process the post-installation configuration
- Akeeba Backup is still in the Components Menu (not within other installations which are working)
- Using the menu item of the components or the configuration path (configuration / component / Akeeba Backup / save or save & close) ends on the post-installation configuration page with both buttons (blue one / yellow one)
- clicking the buttons doesn't pushes the processing!

What I already did:
- clear cache
- over installation of the software
- deinstallation and installation of the software

Resultats:
Still the same

Thanks for any help!

There is a very rare case where Joomla! might create two #__extensions table entries or remove that entry completely. Please try installing the component again, without uninstalling it. If this doesn't work you'll have to uninstall and reinstall the component. However, the downside is that you will lose all backups saved in the default backup output directory (administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup), the backup records and the backup profiles from your site.

Thank Nicholas

That's what I already tried to do but without any success. Attached an akeeba.backend.log which could be helpful to identify the cause?

Thanks
Heinz

log-File was not accepted to attach - that's the content:

No, the log file is irrelevant. Just to be clear, you tried uninstalling and reinstalling as well?

Yes, I did.

And it was possible to run the backup (including transfer to an Amazon S3 address) using the link 'http://www.xxxxxdomainxxxxxx.ch/administrator/index.php?option=com_akeeba&view=backup' (bottom left in the control centre).

The only one problem is that I'm not able to save the post installation configuration (see attachement).

PS
And it is independent which position are marked!

I still believe it has something to do with your hosting and/or browser. There's only one way to know for sure. I have made this ticket private so that only you and me can see the information posted here.

Please provide me with the following information:
  1. The URL to your site's administrator login page
  2. Super Administrator username and password
  3. FTP connection information

Please allow up to one business day (GMT+2 timezone) for me to log in to your site and debug this issue. When I'm done I will post back. Once the issue is fixed, you can revoke my access e.g. by changing the Super Administrator and FTP passwords.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
In order for me to help you fast and accurately, please provide the information by copying the form below, paste it into your reply and fill in the information:

----- Access Information Form -- START -----
Super Administrator access
  • URL to site's administrator page (e.g. http://www.example.com/administrator?foobar):
  • Super Administrator username:
  • Super Administrator password:

FTP connection information
  • FTP methods supported (e.g. FTP, FTPS, SFTP):
  • FTP Hostname:
  • FTP Username:
  • FTP Password:
  • FTP Port (if other than 21 for FTP and 22 for SFTP, ask your host):

----- Access Information Form -- END -----

Please make sure that you have tested the Super Administrator connection using a different browser or machine than the one you are using daily. Double check that logging in is possible and that the user has Super Administrator (Super User) privileges, i.e. it's not a regular Administrator. Make sure that your site does not block whole countries or IP ranges which would make it impossible for me to log in / connect by FTP. Finally, please do make sure that the FTP connection works and that logging in to it I have access to your site's files.

Thank you very much for your support!

I will need some time to do the additional tests (tomorrow afternoon in the offices of our company) and then provide the requested data to enable you the direct access!

Thank you for your login information. I have removed it from the ticket before making it public again.

You have a plugin called "System - Joomfever premium" which causes a Javascript error on the page. Namely, it outputs these lines:
$(window).addEvent('domready', function(){

$$('p.jf-copy').setStyle('display', 'none');

})

The developer who wrote that plugin NEITHER terminated their code with a semi-colon NOR did they put a linebreak after it. This causes a Javascript error. Please contact the developer of that plugin and let them know of the amateurish bug in their code which is screwing our properly written component!!!

Well done! Excellent job you did for me.

I've inactivated the ref plugin and I'm going to inform the developer asap.

Best regards and thank you very much
Heinz
