Description of my issue:
Hi Nicholas!
Can you tell me if it is possible to exclude a single directory while using cron job-function in my host cpanel and if so , how to write it?
The cron job I´m using is like:
/usr/local/bin/php /home/site/public_html/cli/akeeba-backup.php --profileID=xxx.
Now I´d like to save some space on my server by not backing up everything in front-end with cron job function.
The cron job works fine, every time like all of your products which I´m just fully satisfied with - thank you.

Hello Benedikt,

you can exclude directories directly from Akeeba Backup control panel. Please remember that these exclusions are profile-specific, so you'll have to add them for every profile you are using.

Hi tampe125!
I know I can exclude directories in Akeeba backup.
That is the reason I asked how to exclude directories in cron-job-script and also the reason I gave you the script of excisting cron-job-script which I´m using in cron-job on my host.
For explaining:
Is it possible to use script in cron-job to backup all but one root-directorys of my site (if I´m right,) just front end-backup?
Sincerely yours
Benedikt

No you can't. You have to create a new profile, exclude the folders you want and then invoke that profile in your automated script (CRON, wget or frontend)

Ohh, now I got you!
Thanks for your replay.
First create a new profile in Akeeba backup, then configure that profile to exclude directories and then run the host-cron-job-script by using --profile=ID.
Sure, computing always make sens.
Most often, that is my problem to deal with that.
Thank you very much.
