EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Unable to automatically transfer backups to dreamobjects buckets.

Upload of your archive failed.

AEUtilAmazons3::putObject(): [403] Unexpected HTTP status

I think the problem started with 3.10.2.

Your archive is too large to upload in a single step, you need to split the archive into multiple parts.

Per our troubleshooting guide (hidden as S3 troubleshooting):
Now, for the second leg, we have to do some trial and error. Still in Akeeba Backup's Configuration page, find the Archiver Engine drop-down and click on the Configure button next to it. A new pane opens below. Find the Part size for split archives option and select the 49.99 option. Try a new backup. If it crashes while uploading files to Amazon S3, go back to this option and try smaller values, i.e. 20, 10, 5, 2 or even 1, trying a new backup after setting each one of those values.

Set split archives option to 1 still no joy.

That error message has a "403" in it. It is not clear that it is a "forbidden" error, but that would indicate a problem with your setup. Is this a new transfer or is this something that has worked in the past?

It looks like Dreamobjects is hosted by Amazon S3, so all the instructions for S3 would apply, like lowercase bucket names, etc.

This has worked in the past. I am pretty sure it stopped working with the upgrade to 3.10.2. As far as i know dreamobjects is hosted by dreamhost and is not affiliated with amazon.

Dale was mistaken, DreamObjects is not hosted on S3, it is using the same RESTful API as Amazon S3. Quoting from their site:
DreamObjects is a cost-effective, public cloud storage service. You can access it through our Panel, programmatically via API, or a third-party app. It’s compatible with the APIs of Amazon S3 and Swift-based object storage services like Rackspace Cloud Files.

Naturally, just like every other developer integrating with DreamObjects, we are using the same code as our Amazon S3 integration. The only difference is that the endpoint domain is objects.dreamhost.com per their documentation. As I said other developers do the same thing, e.g. CyberDuck, a popular file transfer app for Mac OS X and CloudBerry, a popular cloud backup and cloud file transfer app for Windows.

Back to your problem. You get a 403 Forbidden HTTP status. This means that your Access Key or your Secret Key are wrong. You can retrieve the correct Access and Secret Key for your DreamObjects account from the Storage part of your DreamHost web panel. Then go back to Akeeba Backup's Configuration page and enter this information into your Upload to DreamObjects configuration.

Something is giving us a permissions error. If the key and code are correct, take a look at the bucket name (or that's what S3 calls it). If they are using the same API as S3 then they may have the same restrictions as S3. It should be all lowercase letters. I really don't know if that applies to Dreamobjexts or not. If you are using a path, the path separators need to be Unix style forward slashes, not Windows style backslashes.

The setup is the same as when it was working except for the changes you had me do the other night. the buckets are lower case, no slashes needed.

Does Akeeba report the error or does dreamobjects report it and akeeba passes it on?

dlb
The 403 would come from Dreamobjects' server and be passed on by Akeeba.
