EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue is, back up failed with error message
"Could not open archive file 'C:/wamp/www/SD_Civic/administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup/site-127.0.1.0-20140327-043239.j01' for append! "
I have been using Joomla for years but recently started using version 3.2.2 from 2.5 so have never encountered a problem with Akeeba before. I need to get my site live but can't back up :(
Please help - thanks
Jane

Hello Jane,

usually this problem is caused resource depletion on Windows (FYI it's not related to available memory or disk space, it's Windows internal handler).
If you have an antivirus running, can you please try to turn it off, as well as all other programs?
If this is not working, you can try to use time settings max 7 min 2 bias 50.
It will take a looooooooooooooooooooooong time, but you will be able to complete the backup.

Hi Davide

Ok I tried all of those things and its still not backing up ;) Very frustrating, I have a business to run and need to back up a client's site.
Are you saying that if I develop on a web server rather than local host this problem won't happen?
I need to get this working asap
Thanks
Jane

This problems usually occurs with XAMPP or WAMP local installations.
As far as I can tell, Zend Server is working better.

However, did you tried to close all other programs?
Do you have enough space in the location you are backing up?
