EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
Backup Fails - Attachment shows details

Alice show Errors . Attachment shows details

Currently on 2.5.17 and looking to go to 2.5.18 !

Think both attachments are attached. Can only see one file name !

Only the ALICE screen shot was attached, but that gives us a starting point. Work from the bottom up in ALICE's suggestions. Install Backup twice, back to back, without uninstalling. If you uninstall, you will lose your settings and possibly your stored backup archives. This trick will usually install any missing files in your installation.

Next change the timing settings, they are at the bottom of the Configuration screen.

You can try your backup again at this point. The saved state error could be caused by the other errors. If you backup is not successful, please zip and attach the log file. You can only attach one file to a ticket. You can put multiple files in a zip as long as the total file size does not exceed 2 mb.

Hi Dale,
Is latest version 3.10.1 pro ?

Also how do I zip up the log.txt file ?

Sorry for request but brain gone ...

dlb
Yes, the latest version is 3.10.1.

LOL Been there, done that! Most file managers have an option to compress a file if you right click on the file. You need to download the file first, There is a download button when you are viewing the file.

Hi,

Update

Initial Problem Solved. Akeeba Backup now operational.

However ...

Have successfully updated Akeeba Backup to 3.10.1 (twice) . As suggested.

Have increased timing settings in Configuration by one setting. As suggested

Have completed two Backups because the settings are such that Akeeba runs before the Joomla! 2.5.18 update however the Joomla! update does not happen !

I have looked around to see if I can turn off the 'Run Akeeba before Updating Joomla!' setting. Where is it ? Then I can try to Update Joomla! directly.

Thanks
-->
Thanks for zip advise - I do not seem to have that option on right click. Will investigate some day soon !

dlb
You can disable the plugin System - Backup on update, that will stop the backup.

Please check your Administer Backups page, it doesn't sound right that the backups were successful but the update didn't continue. I want to make sure the backups really were successful.

The compression on right click would vary by operating system and file manager. That was a place to start. It works on Dolphin running on Mint Linux.

Hi,
This question follows on from the previous ones !
The Akeeba plug in (Backup on update) has been disabled.
I have again tried to upload 2.5.18 but the system is still waiting 11 minutes later.
Any ideas ?
