EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue: I know that I can't DIRECTLY backup to my Google DRIVE. My question is can I do a 'local' backup and have Akeeba trigger a script when it is done to copy/move the backup file to my Gdrive thus giving me a safe, off-server, backup file that 'indirectly' uses my Gdrive for storage? I am not a PHP or linux person, and I don't know if Akeeba has any built-in abilities to trigger scripts when finished with a backup.

There was an article that mention a PHP script 'cp2google' but lots of people confuse Google-drive with Google-storage so I am not sure if it is appropriate or not....

Thanks for being patient with a beginner with an idea of how to do something that seems to be hard to do without spending more money and creating even more accounts....

Hello,

I strongly suggest you to make your life easier: there are a lot of remote storage engines that offer free space.
Just think about Dropbox, Amazon, Box.com etc etc

At the moment there isn't any "hook" after completing the script: the only thing you could do is to setup a cron job for the backup, then after an hour or so (to be sure that the backup completed) run another CRON script to upload the files to Google Drive.

However, since you claim you're not a "script-guy" I'd suggest you to use the options that are available out of the box.

Thanks. I did end up going with some Google cloud storage. Already had a Google account, just wish there was a way to link the Google cloud with the Google drive, but that's not an Akeeba issue.

Thanks again for the response.

Can I suggest you to take a look at StorageMadeEasy?
You can configure several different storage engines and access them all from a single interface.
I don't know if it's what you were looking for, but maybe you can take a look at it.
