Hello,

Thank you in advance for your service and products. I just subscribed to Admin and Backup pro services. I like your product and having been using it often and look forward to the valuable services in pro admin and backup.

I am looking do remote backup from Joomla site to Google Cloud Storage. I have found and read instructions and understand them 100%. What I can't find is the actual menu in your component for doing the config of Google Cloud Storage. Can you please direct me?

Thanks,

Will

dlb
Thank you for your kind words.

To set up your backup to go to cloud storage go to Configure, in the Advanced Configuration section and select Upload to Google Storage in the Data Processing Engine field. You can set up the connection information by clicking the Configure button.

Thank you go it. So maybe just one more question... If I go to initiate a backup using this new profile it appears to start to save locally.... Do I need to turn something off or make other adjustments?

dlb
Yes, the backup archive will be stored locally during the backup. All of the Google Cloud settings are under the "Configure" button that I mentioned in the previous reply. The archive(s) are uploaded to Google after the backup is complete (the Process immediately option would change this).

You will see the files under /components/com_admintools.

Your Joomla! installations are too far behind. You need to be on at least 2.5.14 because there was a function added to Joomla! there that Admin Tools needs.

There were major changes to the 3.x series in the 3.2 release. The current versions of Admin Tools require at least 3.2 for the FOF later that is now included as part of Joomla! The 3.2.0 version was not one of Joomla!'s better releases, you should go with the current 3.2.2.

Uh oh! This looks like it is in the wrong thread. The right answer to a completely different question.

I have all backup to Google cloud working as expected Thank You.

I also have full .jpa backup files going to Google Cloud Storage full size. I have tried as large as 1 GB so far. No need to break into 20MB pieces apparently.

Thanks for your kind assistance as I got up to speed.

dlb
You are welcome!

The split archive size depends on server speed and the connection between your server and Google. You are correct, you need to experiment a little bit to find the maximum size for your situation.
