Is there a way to tell AkeebaBackup to use the Joomla FTP layer? We use Dropbox to sync files between our servers. The backups end up being owned by "apache", not the user that owns all the other files and the user that Dropbox runs under.
Thanks.

Just set up the FTP layer in Joomla! and Akeeba Backup will use it as well.

Thanks, but this doesn't seem to be working. The FTP layer is already set up and working for installs and such, but backups end up being owned by "apache", not the ftp user.

I apologize, I was wrong about the file ownership. This is Nicholas' explanation:
Nope. It is impossible to append to files through the FTP layer so we can never use the FTP layer during backup. All files are owned by the Apache user. There's no workaround to that.

Bummer. I would think there would be a way to copy the file after the backups complete.
Thanks anyway.

I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.
