EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
Tried Akeeba Backup on several sites I have running. None of them work.
From a fresh install, using the Configuration Wizard, everywhere I end up with this error:

AJAX Loading Error
HTTP Status: 500 (Internal Server Error)
Internal status: error
XHR ReadyState: 4
Raw server response:

Example: site I am building now:
www.twopointdemo.nl
you can login the backend:
user: akeeba
pass: akeeba

All is very unfriendly. Eg the fact that, when I want to incluse the debug log of Akeeba Backup in this ticket, it is refused, because the filename has spaces. Why do you want to have this log included always and give it a default name that is not useable in your own ticket system?

Only after posting I ticket I noticed that this is default visible worldwide (dangerous default). So the above mentioned user info is not active. You can get userinfo in a private conversation.

Hello Ben,

inside Akeeba Backup you will find a section named Troubleshooter - ALICE.
Did you try to analyze your log with that tool and apply the suggestions?

I followed all alice suggestions and even disinstalled Akeeba and reinstalled the last version to be sure. All with the same result: a 500 error.

I may have a suggestion for the problem: my hosting party ( www.strato.de ) uses a file limit of 30Mb. I did not find a setting in Akeeba backup to auto split backupfiles (or am I mistaking?).

Can you please post here the log of your latest backup, following ALICE suggestions?

By the way, you can split archives, check this page of the manual, Part size for split archives

I will first try the split option for the archive. This was a bit to hidden for me to find ;-)
Will report if this works.

Ben.

I set the size for a backup archive to 20Mb and this works.
This problem (and solution) should be of interest for all users that host their website at Strato.

Ben.
