At my provider php version 5.2.17 is available. What versions of Akeeba backup and administrator tools can I install, since the latest version require php 5.3.1

Note that very frequently hosts default to one PHP version but may have more modern versions available for those who need them. You may be able to switch versions on an account basis or via a command in your .htaccess file. Check with your host to see what is available. I would recommend this approach over using older software.
Finally, if you host only has an old, unsupported, end-of-life version of PHP with known vulnerabilities available, it is time to look for a new host.
