EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

I'm sorry, but I can't figure out where that file would be on my MacbookPro (10.9).

Description of my issue: After restoring from my backup onto my personal laptop I am unable to get the index page to load. I get the message "Error code: ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED" in Chrome.

I have a fresh install of MySQL and PHP.

***edit***
I just noticed something. When on our web server the site was served as https with a secure certificate. On my localhost it is also trying to connect to https. Is there a site configuration file I can flip a switch in?

In configuration.php, change $force_ssl to:
public $force_ssl = '0';

That fixed it. Thank you very, very much.

You are welcome! You solved it, I was thinking something in the .htaccess file. :-)
