EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

A new customer has an old Joomla Version and prior to updating, i wanted to make a backup. The AkeebaBackup Version is old as well, and ends with errors. I attached the log file. Any ideas why this happens or what my next steps should be?

Go to Akeeba Backup, click on the Configuration Wizard, retry backing up.

If this doesn't work, go to Akeeba Backup, Configuration and try using:
- Minimum execution time: 1 second
- Maximum execution time: 5 seconds
- Runtime bias: 50%
Then retry backing up.

thanks for the tip. but this did not work...
maybe the error is due to huge imagefiles they have been using for their site, and i told them to optimize them (which they say the did), but in the log it stops on this gallery-plugin, so maybe there are still some old huge images in temp/cache of the plugin which cause the error?

There are two possibilities:

1. You are running out of disk space. Don't trust cPanel, check with the host.

2. Your host imposes a maximum size per file. Go to Akeeba Backup, Config, archiver engine, click configure, change part size for split arch to 20M (or maybe 5M or even 2M on some hosts), try again

Yes, try 20 Mb or maybe even 5 to be sure

one more question though:

now i see in the backend a 12-part backup...
this is normal due to the change with 5Mb i did i guess?

in order to restore (if someday needed), do i have to upload all 12 parts, and kickstarter does its job automatically as it used to be?

> now i see in the backend a 12-part backup... this is normal due to the change with 5Mb i did i guess?

Yes. The nearly 60Mb backup is now split in 12 files of 5Mb each.

> in order to restore (if someday needed), do i have to upload all 12 parts, and kickstarter does its job automatically as it used to be?

Yes, Kickstart only requires you to have all part files present. It figures out the rest all by itself.
