EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
I tried many times to backup and I read your troubleshooting page.
I did everything but the problem is remaining.
Could you help me?
Thanks in advance.

Would you please zip and post the actual backup log file? That shows me some different information than the log file analyzer. Thanks!

Here it is.

ALICE is a new feature and I have not worked with it much. It is almost scary that it came up with the same things that I did looking at the log file.

What size do you have your split archives set to? One possibility is that you have hit a maximum file size imposed by your host. You may be able to see the size of the failed backup file via FTP, if so, set your part size slightly smaller than that and try your backup again.

The backup is 600 000 000 ko (huge!) but the provider announces that I have 1000Gb.

dlb
You appear to have enough total disk space, but your host seems to have a maximum size per file. When your backup file hits the 600,000,000 size, the 500 error occurs.

You need to go to Configuration, Advanced Configuration, Archiver engine, Configure, and set the Part size for split archives setting to a size less than your host's maximum file size. This will create a backup file with multiple parts, you will need all of the parts to restore your backup.

I did it but the backup failed again.

dlb
Please try a really small value, like 50. If the backup works with that value, then we have found the problem, we just have to find the maximum value we can use. That is a trial and error process.

It works! THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH!

dlb
You are welcome! But we are not quite done.

The goal is to find the largest part size that still allows your backup to complete. I can't tell you what that part size is, you will have to keep increasing the part size until it fails again to find the magic number.
