EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

I uninstalled the core version and tried to install the pro version, but kept getting error message "could not upload to this server"

Then I unzip the file and loaded in the tmp directory and tried to install it through the tmp directory. It said installation success full but above that I got the error message on two lines "Rename failed
Rename failed"

Is this a problem?

I went ahead and did a backup - that seems to run fine.

Regards

Hello Mohammed,

most likely the upload error you got was caused by a server upload limit.
You should check it and raise the upload limit over 2Mb.

Regarding the "Rename" error, I think you should be fine, since these were only warnings.

HI

Yes I already checked that and increased it to 8MB, same size as POST in the PHP.ini file.
But still no joy. I am still getting "There was an error uploading this file to the server." message.

Is there a PHP service that needs restarting?

What about the other error I got after I uploaded to tmp directory and installed from there?

Your errors are caused by a wrong PHP configuration.
PHP needs a writable temp directory to upload files; your PHP config is missing or it's not writable.

We regret to inform you that we cannot provide support for issues arising from server (mis)configuration. We will have to close this ticket per our support policy
