Description of my issue:

Hi

I know that I use an old version of AkeebaBackup but I don't think that it affect my issue.
My problem is that I have configured Akeeba to take a backup of the main sql db. Everything is fine and the backup works fine. However when I went to check the db tables exclusion section I saw with a big surprise that the Akeeba doesn't backup the data of some tables (not Joomla core ones) although I never make such a selection. It also shows them with a red sign and I cannot revert it to normal (see attached screenshot). My question is how to overcome this and make this table data available to backup again.

Thanks in advance.

Go to Database Tables Exclusion and press the big red button at the top - Reset all filters.

There are some tables that are excluded by default. Things like the session table should not be restored. But Akeeba should never exclude non-core tables by default. It is possible that some third party extensions may tell Akeeba that their tables should be excluded. I am not aware of any that do that, but it is possible.

Hi

Thanks for the reply.
I tried it with no success.
The red sign remained the same.
I don't have any 3rd party extension that affects this.
When I created a 2nd profile and saw the default filters everything was as expected.
However as I note to my #18062 ticket it's not possible to make the 2nd profile permanent active.
Thanks

We have reached a point where I can't fix this one. Unfortunately, Nicholas is at J!WC in Boston for the rest of the week. I'll get with him when he gets back and we'll beat it into submission.

If you take a closer look you will see that these are not tables, they are VIEWs. VIEWs are -roughly speaking- stored SQL queries. They don't have data on their own merit. They grab their data on the fly by querying other tables in your database. Of course it makes no sense to backup that data, as the tables where it comes from are already backed up. Therefore there is nothing missing from your backup.

For more information please do read our documentation. Since our on-line documentation is almost two years newer than your version of the component please do read the documentation in PDF format that you can find in the download page of Akeeba Backup 3.4.3.
