I have created a draft site using Joomla 3.1 for my client, and now want to backup the site and restore on my clients own server. Unfortunately my clients server is running PHP 5.2.

I cannot work out which version of Akeeba I need to install so that I can restore the website on their server. Can you advise me?

Joomla! 3.x requires at least php 5.3.1, so changing the version of Akeeba won't help. Many hosts default to an antique version of php, but have modern versions available through an AddHandler command in .htaccess or in some cases the host can switch a specific hosting account to a modern version of php. The host's support staff should be able to advise you what versions of php are available and how to enable them.
