Description of my issue:I amtrying to back up on server. I tried to use the latest version on my localhost and it worked and when i went to install on server it could not install the data base. so I uninstalled latest version and reinstalled my stand by that used to work 3.4.3 and i get a 500 error. I do not understand why

I am a little confused here. You say "when i went to install on server it could not install the data base" which sounds like a restore failed. But the log you attached shows a backup which failed at the beginning of the database dump. I'm pretty sure we're talking about a failed backup.

The 500 error is a server error, you need to check your server error log (that is different from the access log) to find more information about what happened.

Have you ever gotten a successful backup on this server? I am not familiar with your host, but one possibility is a MySQL query limit.

I was explaining why I used the 3.4.3 version. I have found it to be more reliable. I have changed my server to default 5.3+ but i still have trouble with newer versions.

I want to know why this backup failed.

dlb
OK, now we are on the same page. You would be surprised how easy it is to get going in different directions sometimes. :)

The backup failed because of the 500 error. There is no indication in the backup log as to what caused the 500 error, that is normal. We need to check the server error log to find out what caused the error. While the error message that you see on the screen is not very informative, the error log contains the actual reason for the error.

I am a little lost as to how to get the server log. I see logs up there but have never had to do this before.

dlb
That part varies from host to host, so it is hard for me to help you with it. I have seen the error logs accessed through the CPanel, as error.log in the root of the site and in a /logs folder in the root of the site. If you find error.log, you can look at it through ftp, or download it to your local machine and view it there. It is simply a text file. The free Notepad+ would be a good choice to view it if you don't have a favorite editor. The file is in date order, with the newest entries at the end of the file. There should be a line that shows the 500 error and it will give additional information about what caused the error. You can copy and post that line here and it will tell me what we need to do to fix it.

If you can't find the error.log file, you can contact your host to ask them where to find it.
