Description of my issue:
My automatic backup is not working in some of my sites, I am using cron job method. There is no log files created yet for the automatic backup yet since there is no attempt of backup by cron. Also I figured a issue in updating my akeeba backup pro using backend in some of my sites.

Hello Adam,

please can you attach a copy of a failed backup log?
Which error do you get while trying to update?

As I have told you earlier, the issue is Cron Job is not taking any backup, so no log file is generated for that. Backup with backend (manual) is working fine.

Whops sorry Adam!
I was fast-reading and I missed that part :)

However, are you doing a "real" cron job or are you using 3rd party sites to trigger the backup?
Can you post the command you are currently using?

I am using from Cpanel, I think that's a real cron job.
Here is the command line
/usr/bin/php-cli /home/username/public_html/cli/akeeba-backup.php --description="My automated backup"

Where the username is my Cpanel's username.

Do you have any log created from your hosting?
When Akeeba Backup is started from CLI, it starts to output some info (ie welcome banner, system info and so on); usually this is recorded from the hosting, do you have anything like that?

Just to be sure: the akeeba-backup.php file exists? I know that's a silly question, but we had some issues with hostings that deleted AB files...
