Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Joomla! version: 2.5.14
PHP version: 5.3
MySQL version: 5.5.32
Host: PCExtreme in Netherlands
Akeeba Backup version: 3.7.10

Description of my issue:
When I go to Component Parameters and click Save, Save and Close after filling in the ID the page stays in a kind of loop. I have to close the page and go back. Then I see it is saved.

When I click on Cancel nothings happens. Page doesn't go back. I have to use Back ← icon of the browser.

Is this a bug or broweser related issue? I use Firefox.

Best regards,

Chris Mijnsbergen

This sounds like either a browser issue or some kind of cache / proxy between your PC and your site's server which is caching the redirections issued by Joomla!. For what is worth, I cannot reproduce this issue with Firefox on Mac OS X, Windows 8 or Ubuntu Linux. I am more inclined to believe that this is a cache / proxy getting in the way.

Please note that the component parameters are not handled by our software. They are entirely handled by Joomla!'s com_config component. It is the same thing as with any component's Options page, be it a core (built-in) Joomla! component or a third party component.

Think you are right, Nicolas, because when I look at parameters of other components the same thing happens. The pop-up screen for parameters do not appear only a full screen.

This site is a backup site which I made on one of my subdomains.
Because everything was OK (I thought) after I installed the backup, I deleted the original site.

Is it something that can be related with the backup?
Or do you have any other suggestions to get evrything in the right state?

Let me make it clear: the issue you are experiencing is completely unrelated to any Akeeba components or extensions (plugins, modules, libraries) installed with them. If you do not believe me please proceed to uninstall all Akeeba extensions, the Akeeba Strapper files package and the FOF library from Extensions, Manage Extensions, Uninstall. Finally, if you used Admin Tools' .htaccess Maker, please replace you .htaccess file's contents with the contents of the htaccess.txt file supplied with Joomla! itself. Do note that by doing that you will lose all configuration settings in Akeeba extensions. Also note that by doing that all of our code and any changes made by it will be absolutely and totally removed from your site, therefore not being able to affect your site in any possible, imaginable or unimaginable way.

Of course I believe you. It was a question from someone who's not a programmer!

I want to make 100% sure that you can reproduce the issue without our code running on your site. I know that this process is redundant, but I know it because I understand how Joomla! works. As you are not a developer I have to be able to convince you beyond any doubt. Explaining the code path leading to this issue doesn't sound like a solid approach in this case :) That's all and that's why I explained how to remove all of our code of your site. By the way, you belong in the minority of users who believe me without having me to go to great lengths to prove that I'm not an elephant. I apologise if my reply came across the wrong way.

No problem!

If someone lijke you can make this kind of great extensions who am I to not believe you!
Keep up the good work!

I'll try to find some other solutions to get the popup screen back through the Dutch Joomla Forum.
The parameters still are working when I saved them but it is going a little different then normally.

Out of a hunch, maybe clearing your browser's cache, quitting and restarting the browser works?
