Akeeba Backup version: Akeeba Backup Professional 3.4.3 (2012-03-21)

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

Hi,
we would like to enable the post processing procedure and upload the file to dropbox. On several different Joomla Projekts it works very good (1.5 and 2.5 sites), but unfortunately on the site www.e34-ig.de it is not working.
When we try to enable it "Authentication - Step 1" a pop up appears with a 404 error message. The location of this pop up is:

http://www.e34-ig.de/administrator/index.php?option=com_akeeba&view=config&task=dpeoauthopen&engine=dropbox

and the message in the browser is: "404 Not Found!"

What is the problem?

I tried accessing that URL directly. Under normal circumstances I would have one of the following results:
- Redirected to the login page (default plain Joomla! behaviour)
- Redirected to the front page of the site (most security extensions)

Instead, I get the same error as you. This means that one of the following is going on, both beyond my control and ability to help:
  • You have installed an extension which interferes with accessing your site's back-end. For example a security plugin or component which intercepts back-end access in a non-standard way.
  • Your host is blocking access to URLs based on specific patterns, e.g. by using mod_security2. In this case you will have to contact them and see how you can avoid that URL from being blocked.


Since it only happens on one of your sites I suspect that the problem is the former.

Hi Nicholas,

thanks, you pointed me in the wright direction. The problem occured because of a .htaccess file in the root directory.
