Mandatory information about my setup:

Joomla! version: (2.5.8)
PHP version: (5.3.22)
MySQL version: (5.5.27 ?)
Host: (apache on sun)
Akeeba Backup version: ("newest")

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
Hello out there,

I bought AkeebaBackup Pro just 3 weeks ago, installed it successfully and made 3 backups 'till now.

Yesterday after hours of setting up the forum module "AgoraPro" I want to make a backUp, but got only a "yellow screen" with the warning that my SQL database may be damaged, that I should de-install and restore (what? Akeeba or the whole sql databases?)

I tried to do a "clean" de-installation via module management inthe backend, but at the module I started with, I got the notice: that the ?? could not be found or is invalid.

The website itself seems to be sound. All things are visible.

SInce the installation of Akeeba Backup
- I installed AgoraPro and made an update of it (4.12?)
- I activated a second domain at the same hoster (strato.de) and did a second, independent install of a Joomla! for that site. But it was strange to me, that in that *new* Joomla installation, there where Akeeba components visible in the Admin backend menue!

For I'm rather new to Joomla and Akeeba, but have spent weeks for setting up my site (for a German village/town), that someone can help me to rescue the situation. (May be, I provide access to both sites for an hour ...)

Hi Johannes,

can you try to install Akeeba Backup again?
Did you get any error?

Hello! Many thanks for an answer and your will to help!

At the moment I tried to de-install all components of AkeebaBackUp Pro via backend -> module management, but
- I got a long list of red error code,
- at least 3 - 4 components refuse to be de-installed

(see screenshot attached) I have to state, that I never tampered with the file system of the site (for instance via ftp). And that red error lines with my site drive me crazy :-(

For I am actually at work, I have to wait till I'm home, where the original AceebaBackup Pro install.zip is stored. Then I may have a second try...

Many, many thanks for any help!

Johannes

Hi Johannes,

please install the latest version of Akeeba Backup, then go to components->Akeeba backup and relad the page 3 times.
This should fix any issues regarding the database.

I think this therad can be closed/marked as solved.

As in several texts said, a re-install solved all noticed symptoms.

With the help of of the often mentioned tutorial I scratched via ftp every instance of the previous installation off the site, installed twice AkeebaBackup Pro and reloaded the backend settings page. All ok, all in place.

I consider buying the Admin tools, too. Alone the .htaccess help is worth that money, I think.

Many thanks to all helpers!

Johannes
