EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

I know you guys are busy, however my Joomla site still shows me that I'm only at the Core rlease for Akeeba Backup and Admin Tools. not at the ESSENTIAL level. I've been over the documentation several time, I've double and triple checked my Download ID and it is correct in both locations listed below.

For Akeeba Backup, go to Components, Akeeba Backup. Look inside the main page area. There is a button called "Component Parameters".

For Admin Tools, go to Components, Admin Tools. Look up and to the right. See the lone "Options" button? It's below the menu and title, to the far right of the page.

Also, I went to the the url below and the step by step instructions are not located there.

Cut and Past from previous ticket #15441:

What is there is the following:

You have been very helpful, but until I can backup my work and install the backup files correctly, I'm reluctant to expend many resources creating my website. A lesson I've learned the hard way.

Thanks again in advance the answers I've been receiving are very helpful and I know before to long I will be very comfortable sprelunking around Akeeba.

You need to upgrade Core to Professional, of course, as shown in our video tutorial and clearly explained in our documentation. The same applies to Admin Tools.

HI Nicholas,

I think I see the disconnect in our discussion. I viewed the video visa the link you supplied and it made complete sense to me. However, the vieo has a screen shown below.

 

When I selected the same screen in my login I see what is below. There is no download panel.

 

If I select the "View Details" what I see is below.

 

Selecting My Subscriptions takes me back to the previous screen, which is what I've come to know as "the website infinite loop".

I found the videos to be excellent. I'm guessing you won't get to this until Monday. Have a good weekend. I have more to read up on. The other issue I've noticed is the links in the emails don't work and that I should go back to the original ticket number for the links that work. Please don't assume I'm being sarcatic, because I'm not. I'm very releived to know where the break is in my learning chain and I know we'll work through this next week.

Also, thanks for crediting me with the extra months for the price difference. I was just thrilled you were able to correct my error. I've heard good things about your backup software for years. I learned how to backup the database and files from FatCow and Akeeba Backup is exponentially better. It will take me a little while but I will master the process.

Hello Roland,

Please try logging out and back in. You should now see all the Professional version downloads. This is a Joomla! limitation, that's why our post-installation page has a yellow warning sign telling you to do that log out / log in chore.

PS: I try to keep an eye on tickets throughout the week, even on weekends.

Hi Nicholas,

 

This is not my day. I logged out an back in. Went to my Subcriptions and still no download links for Akeeba Backup Professional or anything else. I've done it twice. I even tried using Firefox. Still nothing.

I'm pretty sure that it has something to do with the unothodox ways I bought the subscription. I'd bet a buck that if I had bought it correcly in the first place we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Yes, there was a problem with your account due to the unorthodox way we converted your subscription type. No problem, thoguh, I fixed it now. Please try logging out and back in. You should see everything properly.

Hi Nicholas,

We have success!!!!  I successfully completed the first backup with Akeeba Backup Pro. Tomorrow after I finish reading all the support documentation and understand it clearly enough I'll attempt the first backup installation of the website. The Aleeba Admin Pro was also a successful installation. I'm getting very close to being comfortable enought to start building the website.
