Joomla! version: 3.0.2
PHP version: 5.4.11
MySQL version: 5.5.29
Host: www.poawer.nl
Akeeba Backup version: 3.6.12

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

I use post-process to transfer the jpa file to Dropbox.

In the mail I receive I don't get the name of the jpa file. Attachment added; is in Dutch. Since i use the transfer to Dropbox this occurs. Also in on other sites and Joomle 2.5.8 sites. If I don't do the post-proces the name of the file appears. Looks like that the mail is generated after the post-process and then the file is gone.

It's not a reaal problem, but hiatus.

Kind regards,

Wil Panneman

Your PDF file doesn't open on my Mac (and I'm not going to install Adobe Reader due to security concerns). I can't reproduce this issue with English, so I think it's got to be something with the Dutch translation.

Hello Nicolas,

Thank you for your quick response.

I placed the default language for the superuser to English (front and backend). Did run backup (via webcron.org)Did get the mail now in English and again without file information. See attachment now as .txt

I just tried Akeeba Backup 3.7.2 with a fresh Joomla! 2.5.9 installation where I added a few extra files to add bulk to the backup. I set the part size to 1Mb to get enough parts – 48 of them to be exact. Sure enough, the email contains the file names of ALL 48 files. That said, if you have set up post-processing (e.g. uploading everything to Dropbox) with the delete after upload option selected then there are no files left on the server at the end of the backup process –when the email is generated– therefore you will get no list of files. This is normal and expected.

Thank you Nicholas voor your investigation and feedback.

Pitty that you define it as 'Normal and expected' The message generated indicated something else.

But as mentioned in the first post 'It is not a big problem but hiatus' Hopefully the filenames will be added in one of the upcomming releases.

Akeeba backup is a good product. Thank you for time and answers on this post.

Hello Wil,

The filenames cannot be added in any release. As long as the files have been transferred off your site there is no way to consistently verify their existence (most remote storage engines do not allow checking the existence of a file). Moreover, if checking the existence of remote files was possible you wouldn't want me to do it. Think about a 500 parts backup and multiply by the 0.8-2 seconds we'd require to make sure that each file exists. That would lead to timeout issues. As a result this kind of feature will definitely not be added.
