Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes (checked memory, set max time to 5)
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Joomla! version: (2.5.9)
PHP version: (5.3.20)
MySQL version: (5.0.77-log)
Host: (Rackspace Cloud Sites)
Akeeba Backup version: (3.7.2)

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue: This is one of my smaller sites, and I usually don't get AJAX errors with those, but I am having trouble getting through a backup cycle.

Your backup archive is 367154134 bytes long and takes almost two minutes to transfer:

INFO |130307 09:24:22|Beginning post processing file <root>/administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup/site-worldpeacegame.org-20130307-091925.jpa
INFO |130307 09:26:18|Finished post-processing file <root>/administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup/site-worldpeacegame.org-20130307-091925.jpa

This causes a timeout error. Please set the Part size for split archives to a value between 50Mb and 60Mb and retry backing up. This time you should have no problems.

Thanks for the help. I did try 50 and that didn't work either. Then I set it to 20mb and it's still timing out. Anything else I can try (planning on switching hosts in summer to cloudaccess.net, hoping that will be better for backup).

Perhaps if you could attach the backup log file from the try with part size = 20 Mb I could give more insight.

According to your log file the backup has been taken and it is already transferred to RackSpace. Could you please provide a screenshot of the error message?

Sorry, that must have been the wrong log file.

Been on Spring Break vacation the last week. Here's the latest file.

I can get it to successfully backup locally, and then I've downloaded and tested the files to make sure it is viable, but it still gives me an ajax error when trying to upload to Dropbox.

Please go to Components, Akeeba Backup, make sure your backup profile is selected and click on Configuration.  Find the data processing engine row and click on Configure next to it. Uncheck the "Process each part immediately" option. Alternatively you may want to try leaving that checked and check the "Set an infinite PHP time limit" setting at the bottom of the page.

Didn't work either.

I only recently checked the process each part individually, I get the same AJAX error whether or not that is checked.

Here is the log file from me trying to backup with it still checked and with Set an infinite PHP time limit checked.

Here's what I see in the log:

INFO |130318 11:51:12|Preparing to post process site-worldpeacegame.org-20130318-113718.j02
INFO |130318 11:52:06|Successfully processed file site-worldpeacegame.org-20130318-113718.j02

It does work, but it takes almost a whole minute to upload the part to RackSpace, causing a PHP timeout. You have to set a part size for split archives about one third of what you currently have.

Hmm.. but I have it set to upload to Dropbox. I used to use RackSpace CloudFiles, but I am trying to leave Rackspace alltogether and quit paying for the storage.

I don't have upload to CloudFiles selected, only upload to Dropbox selected, but the settings for the CloudFiles post-processing are still in the config.

I went in and cleared out the authentication settings for CloudFiles and changed it back to Dropbox. I dropped the size down and now it's working.

Thanks for the help!
