The contact form says that I am trying to hack it.  Believe me I wish I had that level of talent!  I have removed ampersands and quotes, but that didn't solve it, I can't work out what it is that's wrong.

When you say contact form do you mean the contact me page or the Disqus commenting system?

I mean the contact page.  The commenting is working fine for me.

Aha! I can see what's going on. Blame your browser's auto-fill feature :) I made a small adjustment. It should now work.

Excellent work.  Can you update the JCE K2 thing so that it will work with my guest access level?

(cheeky I know)

There's nothing for me to update. We actually use Joomla!'s ACLs to determine what will be displayed. Are you asking me to provide a way to override Joomla! ACL and knowingly introduce an information disclosure vulnerability? It won't happen :)

I obviously have nowhere near as good a grip of Joomla as you do, I'm sure I'm not the only one.  And I accept that this is not your doing, and a solution will not arrive.

I'm just a bit confused as to why a superuser wouldn't be able to see all the categories they are assigned to.  Even if I assign myself as a guest I can't see it.

I think I may be not understanding your request completely. A super user can see everything, as long as it's published (I'm following JCE's example on what to show and what to hide). If you have K2 items, no matter what their Access is, as long as they are enabled and you are a super user you should see them in the advanced link area. If you cannot, please give me as much detailed instructions as possible which will allow me to reproduce the issue and see if it's something that can be fixed.

Ah ha, that is exciting!  Yes I am a super user, and I cannot see the "guest" posts in K2.  I'm not sure why.

The category is set to "guest".  All categories within that are set to "public".  K2 Items are set to "public".

The category does not show in the advanced link area.  None of the items do either (obviously).

Are both the category and the items published?

Yes, and I can see them on my website.  I can link to them if I put them in a menu, but i don't want them in a menu.
